Even a lifelong Alaskan family still needs some winter sun and warmth every now and again! Had a blast visiting very good friends in AZ for a long weekend. Pool time, bike rides, and the coolest airplanes ever! Hearts feeling recharged and ready for a few more months of winter!

First significant snowfall of the season here in AK!! Last season I got an @ariens snow blower and it was so nice to pull it out this morning and get to work!

A moment in time but friends for life. So amazing to get together with the 2014 Olympic crew this past weekend in Park City for our time capsule reveal. Sochi feels like yesterday and yet our lives have all since unfolded into new chapters. Some predicted and some surprises. What has been the most incredible part of the experience is the deep connection and joy I feel being with these amazing people. And loving adding in our second generation with all the kiddos!! SO MUCH GRATITUDE!
What’s new with us? Fall fun! Bikes, hikes, pressing apples and flying planes. An outside life is the best!

On to Third Grade we go!! So fun to start a new school year, reflecting on the year that just passed, and looking forward to learning new things!

One week ago Breck and I welcomed a little sister into our family, Aspen Lewis. It’s been quite a journey to bring this little one into the world but worth the wait. We are absolutely in love with her and can’t wait to share all our favorite adventures with this mountain girl.
Belated Happy Father’s Day post. We were having too much fun off the grid! Days like this remind me how lucky I am to have grown up with parents that taught me the joy of the outdoors. The glee of flying a kite, the fun of racing stick boats down a stream and just unplanned wandering to see what we can find! Grateful for the chance to also share my Dad and these experiences with my son!!
A little extra on board these days but worth the carry to the top! I never get tired of the feeling of getting up and above everything. Love this time of year when everything feels so suddenly green. Breck is loving the adventures of hiking and I love we can all do it together as three generations!
Not quite summer in Alaska yet but we still made the most of getting outside for Memorial Day weekend! Spent a wonderful few days with friends in the mountains and on the water. Water was a little chilly but Breck didn’t mind. Got the best sleep snuggled in our flannel sleeping bags. Looking forward to lots more of this over the summer!!

I’m so excited for this new way for my family and I to make great memories together, especially after a day of playing in the snow. The athlete in me is also thrilled to use this as a tool for recovery, relaxation and rehab for a nagging back injury.
I’ve spent a lot of my life out in the cold. Being able to come back home and relax in a hot tub is going to be such a treat!!

I used to do all my snow removal by hand and it was starting to take a toll on my back. Not anymore! Now I get the snow taken care of quick and easy and can save my back for all my other favorite activities!
