Backyard adventures in the snow are so much fun! Making the most of a fresh snowfall to get our sledding run ready to go. Fun for all ages!
Proud to have been able to get out and cast my vote today 🇺🇸 and bring my son along. This is an important part of being an American and I hope every American will exercise their right and duty to help set the trajectory for our country’s future.

First significant snowfall of the season here in AK!! Last season I got an @ariens snow blower and it was so nice to pull it out this morning and get to work!
When the conditions are right, they are right!! A beautiful fun day in the sun ☀️ and on the ice. Loving making the most of the pre-snow cold weather. Grateful for family and friends to enjoy it with!
A moment in time but friends for life. So amazing to get together with the 2014 Olympic crew this past weekend in Park City for our time capsule reveal. Sochi feels like yesterday and yet our lives have all since unfolded into new chapters. Some predicted and some surprises. What has been the most incredible part of the experience is the deep connection and joy I feel being with these amazing people. And loving adding in our second generation with all the kiddos!! SO MUCH GRATITUDE!
What’s new with us? Fall fun! Bikes, hikes, pressing apples and flying planes. An outside life is the best!

One week ago Breck and I welcomed a little sister into our family, Aspen Lewis. It’s been quite a journey to bring this little one into the world but worth the wait. We are absolutely in love with her and can’t wait to share all our favorite adventures with this mountain girl.
Belated Happy Father’s Day post. We were having too much fun off the grid! Days like this remind me how lucky I am to have grown up with parents that taught me the joy of the outdoors. The glee of flying a kite, the fun of racing stick boats down a stream and just unplanned wandering to see what we can find! Grateful for the chance to also share my Dad and these experiences with my son!!
A little extra on board these days but worth the carry to the top! I never get tired of the feeling of getting up and above everything. Love this time of year when everything feels so suddenly green. Breck is loving the adventures of hiking and I love we can all do it together as three generations!
Not quite summer in Alaska yet but we still made the most of getting outside for Memorial Day weekend! Spent a wonderful few days with friends in the mountains and on the water. Water was a little chilly but Breck didn’t mind. Got the best sleep snuggled in our flannel sleeping bags. Looking forward to lots more of this over the summer!!
Nice to take a quick break from winter and enjoy some quality family time in Hawaii. A couple days on Oahu and then the smooth vibes of Maui. Felt great to play in the waves, feel sand in the toes and just be warm.
The happiest birthday to my favorite 8 year old! My time is flying by and you are becoming the most incredible young man. I’ve loved every minute and can’t wait to see what the next year holds for us!

I used to do all my snow removal by hand and it was starting to take a toll on my back. Not anymore! Now I get the snow taken care of quick and easy and can save my back for all my other favorite activities!

Home to both alpine and xc skiing, the slope provided fun terrain and great views of the whole area. Met several members of the ski community there, played games and had a great time in the sun!

We discovered great people, fun trails, delicious eats, and epic scenery! Although normally blanketed with snow this time of year, there were still plenty of ways to enjoy being outside, and we had a lot of fun exploring all Bayfield had to offer.
After a restful stay at the Queens View Inn, we ventured off to the Houghton Falls Trail where we found a rocky ravine to explore, hanging ice, and a vista out on the rocks overlooking Lake Superior. Post hike we hit up the Fat Radish, a great local farm-to-table eatery that definitely filled us up! For the afternoon we headed up to Mt. Ashwabay and met local skiers for a tour up and down the alpine ski hill. The work up to the top was rewarded with an expansive view of the Lake! The day concluded with a stop at St. James Social, where we were treated to delicious artisan pizza!
Day two included a stop at Howl Adventure Center for gear and then we on to the heart of town to check out the Iron Bridge and Nature Trail. We found a well cared for, undulating trail with lots of fun things to climb on and explore. Then we jumped on the Madeline Island Ferry to check out Big Bay State Park. Again we found beautiful trails, impressive rock formations, and a chance to dip our toes in the water. We finished our day tasting the local fish specials at The Pier. A fabulous couple of days and a place I can’t wait to come back and visit!
