Last summer we came up with the idea that if we got the top North American women together for a training camp, we could push the level of training higher than it’s ever been. So we tried it. We had a two week camp in Anchorage with members from the US and Canadian national women’s teams and some of the other top national skiers. We trained hard, had a lot of fun and this past winter we achieved some best-ever results and brought in 8 World Cup medals.
Given the success from our first experiment, we decided to do it again!
For our 2nd annual NAWTA, which stands for “North American Women’s Training Alliance” camp, we again convened in Anchorage, Alaska. This time, we trained one week of dry-land and one week up on Eagle Glacier.
This year we had a very special guest, Aino-Kaisa Saarinen, multiple Olympic medalist and World Champion. Super fun to get to know another World Class skier and learn from each other.
We had a great camp. We trained hard, we trained a lot, and most importantly we had a lot of fun.
